The October death of a Uniontown woman who was found dead at home in what the Fayette County coroner蘑菇视频 office called unsanitary conditions has been deemed a homicide by the coroner. Elizabeth Fike, 44, had been bed-ridden for three months at her home on North Gallatin Avenue in Uniontown before dying from complications of neglect, Fayette County Coroner Dr. Bob Baker wrote in a news release Thursday. There will be short-term daytime closures of the Layton Bridge over the Youghiogheny River in Perry Township next week while crews inspect the historic 127-year-old span, the state Department of Transportation announced Tuesday. PennDOT crews will close the bridge daily from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. beginning Monday and continuing until May 15 as part of routine inspections. Detours will be posted in the area. The single-lane bridge and nearby tunnel 鈥� both of which were once used by the railroad 鈥� will be replaced by the end of 2029 as PennDOT works to build a new span across the river.
