Southmoreland High School performers are 鈥楢ll Shook Up鈥�

While inclement weather has caused drama students to lose precious rehearsal days, that’s not stopping them from working overtime to bring the best show possible to audiences.
“Our cast and orchestra have diligently worked to make up for lost rehearsal and set building time. They’ve been extremely dedicated and are coming in with a collective positive attitude and energy that has been such a blessing,” said Jamie Gore, producer of “All Shook Up” at Southmoreland High School.
“All Shook Up” features a guitar-playing young man who changes everything and everyone when he shows up in a small town and inspires residents to shake things up.
Elvis fans will appreciate the vocal renditions of “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Jailhouse Rock” and “Don’t Be Cruel,” and students are excited to bring that era’s music to the stage, Gore said.
“Seeing the camaraderie, preparation, maturity, enthusiasm and teamwork is inspiring and a reminder that these young adults can make great things happen when they work together,” Gore noted. “The production staff is so proud of the efforts our students have shown, and we’re excited to showcase their efforts to the community.”
This year, a new choreographer and 2021 Southmoreland alumnae, Raygan Lewandowski, has jumped in with both feet and is excited for audiences to see what she and the students have put together.
“For many of the students, this is the highlight of their school year, and the opportunity to put on the production is something they cherish as memories for many years to come,” Gore said.

Performances are 7 p.m. March 13-15 and at 2 p.m. March 16 at the high school auditorium.
