Local man recognized as emerging leader
A doctor at Independence Health System at Connellsville Square, was named to Pittsburgh Business Times’ 30 under 30, which recognizes emerging leaders in the nonprofit and business community.
Fayette County native Dr. Adam Burke serves as the facility’s Medical Director of Patient Access and is a family medicine physician
As the medical director, Burke spearheaded projects to streamline emergency department triage, reorganize scheduling, and coordinate system-wide improvements across hospice, home health and imaging. He also led campaigns to expand outpatient vaccine administration and collaborated with payers to resolve quality claim discrepancies, ensuring the system received appropriate performance-based funding.
Burke also serves as lead clinical consultant for iNPAX, an AI-driven medication safety platform. He designs tools that identify potential adverse drug events and support safer prescribing practices.
Outside the hospital, he worked as the public information officer for McClellandtown Volunteer Fire Company, and founded the Paramedic Tommy Dailey PTSD Memorial Project to create a regional mental health support network for first responders.
