Belle Vernon Public Library among those to offer new resources to patrons
Westmoreland Library Network member libraries have new online resources to offer patrons from the comfort of their home computers or devices.
Along with OverDrive’s downloadable audiobooks and ebooks through the Libby app, the library network now provides digital extras to their library patrons including legal forms and test prep materials.
While Belle Vernon Public Library is a member of the Westmoreland Library Network, the library also serves residents of Washington Township and Fayette City in Fayette County. That library is among several in the area that are member libraries. Others include libraries in Monessen, Rostraver, West Newton and Smithton.
Cesare Muccari, executive director for the library system said, ” With the following online data bases, Method Learning, Kovel’s and LawDepot, our library patrons, for free, from anywhere there is internet access can prepare for college SAT’s, check the value of an antique, get a model for creating a will or get help on numerous other needs.”
The current additions can be found are on the Libby extras tab on library websites. The Libby link is generally found under the library catalog link. The new offerings join previously added databases Craftsy, Great Courses, IndieFlix, Qello and Classico concert music programs.
“I am really excited about these new products,” said the Belle Vernon Public Library director Elina Filander. “I’ve had cases before where a patron wants a simple will or a sales agreement and this is a great option for them. And SAT prep books where multiple students can borrow them at a time is a blessing.”
