Laurel Highlands kindergarten registration
Parents in Laurel Highlands School District who have not yet registered children for kindergarten are asked to do so immediately. The process can be started at www.lhsd.org. Click on “student services” and then “kindergarten registration” to complete the online form. Students enrolling shall be admitted to school only during the first two weeks of the new school year. Schedules are posted at lhsd.org. Students and parents will meet their teachers on Thursday, Aug. 25 at 6 p.m. The first day of school for all district students is Monday, Aug. 29.
Penn State Fayette holding alumni barbecue reunion
Penn State Fayette, The Eberly Campus will hold an alumni barbecue reunion on Saturday, Aug. 27 at 5 p.m. before the annual Concert on the Lawn at the Lemont Furnace campus. Alumni of all Penn State campuses are invited to attend. Cost is $25 for adults; free for children under 12. Register by calling 724-430-4190. The Concert on the Lawn, open to the public, features Foreigners Journey at 7 p.m. followed by fireworks.
