Car cruise held to kick off school year at Marshall Elementary

Parents and students came out to Marshall Elementary School on Aug. 18 for a back-to-school event. School for students in the Laurel Highlands School District starts on Monday.
Over 95 vehicles and nearly 1,000 people showed up for Marshall Elementary School蘑菇视频 Back to School BBQ and Car Cruise on Aug. 18.
Principal Jessica Scott said this school year蘑菇视频 theme is 鈥淏oys and Girls, Start Your Engines.鈥� Students voted on the car-cruise winners including Belle Distelraph, a former Marshall Elementary student now Laurel Highlands Middle School. She was awarded 鈥淏est Color鈥� and 鈥淔an Favorite.鈥� Ron Cole received the 鈥淢ighty Mustang鈥� award.
The event also included food trucks, Chinese auctions, raffles and a DJ. Scott said in accordance with this year蘑菇视频 theme, each student has a race care in the school蘑菇视频 lobby to track their progress and will receive a Matchbox car with their name and homeroom labeled. Students can race the toy car into their new classroom when school starts on Monday.
