Masontown Senior Center hosts inaugural Senior Center awards
The Masontown Senior Center held its first Masontown Seniors Red Carpet Awards on Thursday, Oct. 27.
Attendees walked a red carpet in their finest attire with members of the center recognized with trophies in a number of categories like Most Helpful, Most Encouraging and Most Fun.
Following the awards ceremony, Robert Ahlgren of Point Marion was recognized as the 2021-22 Volunteer of the Year. Ahlgren logged over 640 volunteer hours in the last year and was also recognized for his 18 years of service. His name was added to the centerÄ¢¹½ÊÓÆµ volunteer plaque, and Ahlgren was presented with a citation from the state Senate.
Those in attendance included a number of state and local elected officials. The kitchen staff at the Masontown Senior Center prepared a pot roast luncheon for guests.
