Fayette County School Employees Credit Union will temporarily operate at the Fayette County Career and Technical Institute after a fire on Monday evening damaged its building.

A post on the credit union’s Facebook page on Tuesday morning indicated it would be open from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday-Friday in the CTI’s science building.

The fire at the credit union, located at 193 Edison St. in Uniontown, was reported around 9:30 p.m., emergency officials said. It was not immediately clear how much damage the building sustained.

According to its website, the member-owned, not-for-profit credit union was founded in 1939 and serves employees and students of Fayette County schools and their immediate family members.

The CTI is located at 175 Georges Fairchance Road, Uniontown. Anyone who needs to contact the credit union while it is operating out of the school can call 724-438-9019.
