Allegheny Summer Concert Series set for South Park, Hartwood Acres

Allegheny County has announced its annual series of free summer concerts in Hartwood Acres and South Park.

All shows start at 7:30 p.m. at both locations unless otherwise noted. At Hartwood Acres, gates open at 3 p.m. Food trucks, Black Dog Winery and Hop Farm Brewing Company will be at both parks starting at 6 p.m.

The lineup at South Park this summer is:

-River City Brass Band, June 5

-Jimmie Ross and the Jaggerz, June 12

-Coltt Winter Lepley and the Briar Valley Rangers, June 19

-Red Wanting Blue, June 26

-Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, July 3 (concert starts at 8:15 p.m.)

-The Heavy Heavy, July 10

-Orleans, July 17

-Ruthie Foster, July 24

-Don McLean, July 31

-Mathias Lattin and Dylan Triplett, Aug. 7

-Women in Jazz Festival, featuring Su Terry with Jazz de Barro, Camille Thurman and the Darrell Green Quartet, Aug. 14

-Tamburitzans, Aug. 21

-Summer of Love, Aug. 28

-Reb Beach, Sept. 4

The lineup at Hartwood Acres is:

-Pittsburgh Opera, June 7

-Melinda and the Night Sky, June 14

-Yacht Rocket, June 21

-The Kings of Latin Jazz, with Tito Puente Jr., and Nestor Torres, June 28

-Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, July 5 (concert starts at 8:15 p.m.)

-The Fixx, July 12

-Cyril Neville, July 19

-Arrested Development, July 26

-The Wood Brothers, Aug. 2

-Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Aug. 9

-The Lemon Twigs, Aug. 16

-Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre, Aug. 23

-Buzz Poets and New Invisible Joy, Sept. 6

All performances are rain or shine. Pop-up tents and umbrellas can be used for shade prior to a concert, but must be taken down once the show starts. Outside food and drinks are allowed, but dogs must remain on leashes and be vaccinated and licensed. Owners must clean up after their dogs.

Fire lanterns, drones and charcoal grills are not allowed.
