Honoring soldiers who served during Korean War

The Department of Defense is recognizing the 60th anniversary of the Korean War, and honoring those who served in Korea during the war years.

Often called the “Forgotten War,” the Secretary of Defense wants those who served to know they are not forgotten. To that end, the Secretary of Defense has prepared a Certificate of Appreciation that is available to any veteran of any branch of service that served honorably in Korea anytime during the period June 25, 1950, through July 27, 1953.

Veterans eligible for this recognition may request a certificate by providing their full name, current mailing address, branch of service, rank at the time of service in Korea, and basic dates of Korean service (I.e.- May 1951 to August 1952). Once data is processed, the certificate will be mailed to them.

We are proud of those who served our nation during that critical period, and this certificate is a thank you for honorable service.
