Reader thanks Jacktown fair board
Thank you to the Jacktown Fair board for having yet another free fair! We really appreciate this. Everyone can go to the fair at no charge. You can walk through the gate (after parking for free) and see all of the animals, the home and garden exhibits, the commercial displays and the acts on the top of the ground – all for free. The grounds were beautiful this year, all decked out for the big 150th anniversary of the fair!
Our grange has bingo in the hall on top of the ground for only charge 25 cents a card. We have grange cookbooks, brooms and Rada cutlery products for sale, as well as cold water for $1. People who want to support our scholarship fund come through the gate at no charge. That is a big help for everyone who wants to visit the fair.
Some people just like to come and sit under the trees and visit with people they don’t get to see too often. It is a very relaxing atmosphere. Where else can you get all of this for free?
Thank you again to the Jacktown Fair – the oldest, continuous fair in the country! You can’t die happy till you’ve been to the Jacktown Fair!
