Brownsville boys, girls sweep meet from West Greene
The Brownsville boys and girls track teams had dominating performances Tuesday afternoon, sweeping past West Greene in a Section 6-AA meet at Waynesburg Central.
The Falcons won, 105-26, while the Brownsville girls breezed to a 97-54 victory.
Dave Hromada (110 high hurdles, 19.95; 300 intermediate hurdles, 53.1), John Pascoe (100, 11.52; shot put, 35-5), Alec Lima (1,600, 5:42; 3,200, 12:46), Reggie Grooms (400, 56.4; 200, 25.05), Hayden Rhodes (800, 2:28), Harry Hiles (javelin, 114-9; discus, 96-0), Bryant Lewis (high jump, 5-4), and Casey Eperjesi (triple jump, 38-2; long jump, 17-7) all had first-place finishes for the Falcons.
Brownsville also won the 3,200 and 400 relays.
The Pioneers won the 1,600 relay.
The Lady Falcons’ Maris Seto swept the jumping events, winning the high jump (5-0), triple jump (35-2), and long jump (17-2).
Justine Brown (100 high hurdles, 18.71; 300 intermediate hurdles, 57.62; javelin, 89-10), Sara Vance (1,600, 5:52; 3,200, 12:47), Macy Bosworth (shot put, 25-5), and Alie Seto (discus, 84-4) also had first-place finishes for Brownsville.
The Lady Falcons also won the 3,200 relay.
Ashley Cumberledge (100, 14.18), Sarah Courtwright (800, 2:54), and Mikhayla Post (400, 1:07.46; 200) finished first for the Lady Pioneers.
West Greene also won the 400 and 1,600 relays.
