Lady Rockets suffer 8-3 loss in Ripken Experience

The Jefferson-Morgan softball team rallied for a 2-1 lead after three innings Thursday afternoon, but Russell (Ky.) High School countered with two runs in fourth and five more in the fifth for an 8-3 win at the Ripken Experience.

The Lady Rockets added a single run in the top of the sixth inning.

Jefferson-Morgan’s first two runs came when Maddie Van Divner led off with a single, moved to third on Camryn Dugan’s single and then scored on a successful double steal. Dugan scored on an error.

Van Divner and Kayla Yorko both had two singles for the Lady Rockets.

Jefferson-Morgan plays today at 1 p.m. and closes on Saturday with a 1 p.m. start.
