Rohanna makes to cut in Argentina
Friday was moving day for the 85th Abierto OSDE del Centro presentado por FiberCorp and Robert Rohanna made a move up the leaderboard to advance into the third round.
The Waynesburg Central graduate shot an even-par 71 in Friday’s second round to move up 17 places into a nine-way tie in 37th place at 2-over 144.
Rohanna had two birdies and two bogeys on the front nine of Cordoba Golf Club to go out in even-par 35, and carded two birdies and two bogeys on the back for an even-par 36.
American Case Cochran holds the lead after two rounds at 5-under 137. The cut was at 3-over.
“I played pretty well today. I made a few more putts today, which helped me improve my score,” Rohanna said via Facebook Messenger. “Actually, I hit the ball a little better yesterday. Isn’t golf funny?”
Rohanna said the Cordoba Golf Club reluctantly gives up strokes.
“It’s a terribly hard golf course. You miss a fairway by a couple yards and you have no shot on at least half of the holes. The fairways are 20 yards wide, at most,” explained Rohanna.
But, Rohanna’s playing in the weekend, so he’s assured himself a pay day.
“I got the hard part over right?.” Rohanna rhetorically asked. “I just have continue hitting the ball well and a couple less mistakes, and I could put a few rounds together. If I can shoot a few 68s, we’ll see what happens.”
