Pioneers win wild one, 16-8

West Greene scored three runs in four different innings Monday afternoon as the Pioneers returned home with a wild 16-8 victory at Mapletown in Section 1-A action.

The Pioneers (2-3, 3-6) led 9-4 after three innings and 13-7 through five innings.

The highlight of the game was West Greene’s Tyler Baker’s straight steal of home in the top of the first inning after he tripled.

West Greene’s cause was helped with 15 walks, three hit-batsmen and seven Mapletown errors. The Pioneers only had five hits.

Mike Howard earned the win for the Pioneers. 

Garret Kiger took the loss, but had a double, two-run home run and three RBI. Dylan Rush had a triple, while Matt Rush finished with two singles and two RBI.
