Trojans march over West Greene, 13-1

Alex Adams was 3 for 3 with three RBIs and scored three runs in California’s 13-1 win over host West Greene in a Section 1-A baseball game on Wednesday.

The victory keeps the Trojans (13-2, 7-1) tied with Bentworth for first place.

Winning pitcher Nathaniel Luketich improved to 4-0 pitched three scoreless, hitless innings to earn the win. He struck out four and also helped his own cause with an RBI single and a run scored.

Johnny DeFranco tripled and had two RBIs and Enzo Mariscotti contributed a double, walk and run. Brendan Sheehan drove in two runs with a run-scoring single and a sacrifice fly and also walked and scored a run.

The loss dropped the Pioneers (4-7, 3-5) one game in back of Carmichaels for the third and final playoff spot.
