Rohanna still on course when play suspended

By Jim Downey, For The Greene County Messenger 1 min read

Play was suspended in Friday’s second round of the Volunteers of America Texas Shootout presented by JTBC due to weather, and when Rachel Rohanna returns to the course this morning, she’ll have her work cut out for her.

Rohanna completed 16 holes before play was suspended and stood at even-par for the round and 3-over for the tournament.

The projected cut line is 1-over.

The Waynesburg Central graduate started on No. 10 with a bogey-6, but came right back with a birdie. Seven straight pars followed to go out in even-par 35.

As she had on the front, Rohanna opened her back nine with a bogey. She then birdied the last hole she played before play was suspended.

She’s hit 7-of-12 fairways through the first 16 holes and 10-of-16 greens in regulation. Rohanna is 2-for-2 in sand saves and needed 25 putts through the first 16 holes.
