Lady Bulldogs win key section game, 46-40

The Beth-Center girls positioned themselves for a Section 4-AA playoff berth Thursday night with a 46-40 win against visiting Carmichaels.

The Lady Bulldogs (7-9) improve to 5-5 in the section, and pull ahead of Waynesburg Central with the Raiders’ loss to Frazier for the final playoff berth.

Carmichaels (1-9, 4-15) led 12-10 after the first quarter, but Beth-Center pulled ahead at halftime, 20-16. The Lady Mikes rallied back into the lead with a 15-8 advantage in the third quarter, but, behind Kinlee Whited’s 14 points, the Lady Bulldogs had one final run for the 6-point victory with an 18-6 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Whited scored a game-high 24 points, including 10-of-11 from the foul line in the second half.

Kennedy Kuhns scored a career-high 11 points.

Megan Walker led the Lady Mikes with 12 points. Kaitlyn Wilson added 10.
