Rohanna misses the cut in Virginia
Rachel Rohanna had a difficult time getting her game going at the Kingsmill Championship presented by JTBC with two over-par rounds, missing the cut with a 7-over 149.
The cut was at 1-over 143. So Yeon Ryu holds the lead after two rounds at 7-under 135.
The Waynesburg Central graduate opened the second round on No. 10. She had three bogeys and a double bogey to go out in 5-over 40 and slide to 9-over for the tournament.
Rohanna made the turn with three birdies on the first four holes, but couldn’t maintain the momentum. She closed with four pars and a bogey.
“I played well, just didn’t score too well. I had some bad breaks and just didn’t make the putts when I needed to,” Rohanna said after the second round.
Rohanna had five bogeys and just one birdie in Thursday’s first round.
When asked about scoring too many bogeys, Rohanna responded, “Yeah, and really not enough birdies either! I also had some bad luck on my ninth hole. I hit a cart path and went out-of-bounds.
“It was a long course and the greens were pretty fast. It set up perfect for me. I just couldn’t hit those second shots close enough.”
Rohanna hit just 15-of-28 fairways and 20-of-36 greens in regulation. She needed 61 putts over the two rounds.
Rohanna returned home to Greene County for the weekend to recharge as the LPGA Tour turns to the Midwest for the Volvik Championship in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
