By Jim Downey, For The Greene County Messenger 2 min read

Robert Rohanna played another sub-par round of golf Saturday, shooting 2-under 70 in the third round of the San Luis Championship.

Rohanna moved up nine spots in the third round into a tie for 18th place at 3-under 213.

Armando Farvelo and Andres Eschevarria share the lead heading into the final round at 9-under 207.

The Waynesburg Central graduate had a pair of birdies on the front nine to go out in 2-under 34 and two more birdies, plus a double bogey, on the back for an even-par 36.

“I played solid today. (Friday) I didn’t play bad, either, but the afternoon played tough and I just was in the wrong place a few times,” Rohanna said via Facebook Messenger. “Today I played well all day. I started strong and hit lots of greens. I putted solid all day, too, just didn’t make many.

“I hit one poor shot today on No. 16, other that it was a good day. This course is really hard. Birdies are at a premium.”

Rohanna shot 74 in Friday’s second round with three birdies and five bogeys. He opened with a 69 in Thursday’s opening round with six birdies and three bogeys.

Rohanna trails the leaders by six strokes with 18 holes to play.

“Yeah, I mean I’ll have to shoot 5- or 6-under to have a chance, I’d say. But, it’s nice to be playing the weekend and excited to play a little tomorrow,” said Rohanna.
