West Greene increased its lead to 3-0 in the third inning and that’s all Jade Renner needed in the Lady Pioneers’ 6-2 Section 2-A victory over visiting Monessen.

The Lady Pioneers improve to 2-0 in the section and 7-0 overall, while the Lady Greyhounds go to 2-1 and 3-1.

West Greene doubled its lead with three runs in the bottom of the fifth. Monessen scored two runs, one unearned, in the top of the seventh inning.

Jade Renner allowed four hits, struck out three and walked none, and also had a double.

McKenna Lampe had two singles, a walk, stole three bases and scored three runs for West Greene. Madison Renner blasted a two-run home run. Kaitlyn Rizor also drove in a run.

Dana Vatakis took the loss for the Lady Greyhounds, striking out six and walking two.聽
