Lady Pioneers cruise past Mapletown, 14-1
Madison Renner didn’t allow a hit and had three of her own Monday afternoon to lead visiting West Greene to a 14-1 Section 2-A victory at Mapletown.
Renner pitched the first three innings, allowing one run on no hits with three strikeouts and no walks. She had a double, two singles and drove in a run.
Jade Renner completed the game, allowing one hit (Michaela Perry in the fifth inning) and striking out three.
The Lady Pioneers (6-0, 11-0) scored one in the first, five in the second, two in the third, four in the fourth and one last run in the top of the fifth.
West Greene’s Kaitlyn Rizor had a double, three singles and two RBI. Madison Lampe belted a solo home run in the top of the first inning, singled, stole three bases, scored three runs and drove in four. McKenna Lampe had two singles, three stolen bases, three runs scored and two RBI.
Abby McIntire took the loss, allowing 16 hits while striking out six, walking two and hitting two batters. The Lady Maples (2-4, 3-7) committed four errors.
