Brownsville sweeps section meet from West Greene
The Brownsville girls won all but two events Tuesday afternoon for an easy 117-18 Section 2-AA victory against West Greene at Waynesburg Central’s track.
The Falcons also defeated the Pioneers, 70-67.
Delaney Harvey (100 high hurdles, 21.46; 300 intermediate hurdles, 1:07), Aniya Tarpley (100, 13.37), Gionna Quarzo (1,600, 5:20.61; 3,200, 11:59), Rae’Ven Walker (400, 1:08.9), Jessica Vance (800, 2:40.64), Macy Bosworth (shot put, 28-1½; discus, 62-9), and Alie Seto (high jump, 4-0; triple jump, 31-3¼; long jump, 14-6) had first-place finishes for the Lady Falcons.
Brownsville also swept the relays.
Ashley Cumberledge (200, 29.84) and Gina Mankey (javelin, 96-8) finished first for West Greene.
Dave Hromada (110 high hurdles, 18.96; 300 intermediate hurdles, 51.70), Jakob Sabatula (400, 1:00.61), Hayden Rhodes (800, 2:21), Ray Brumley (3,200, 12:46), and Nicholas Seto (triple jump, 38-4½; long jump, 17-8¾) had first-place finishes for the Falcons. Brownsville also won the 3,200 and 1,600 relays.
Isaac Rizor (100, 11.9; 200, 25.08), Austin Crouse (1,600, 5:14), 400 relay (46.21), Cole Hamilton (shot put, 36-7), Brayden Black (javelin, 120-0), Craig Weaver (discus, 123-5), and Kolton Rush (high jump, 5-4) finished first for the Pioneers.
