Rachel Rohanna opened with a bogey Saturday morning, but finished with three birdies on her back nine for the lead in the clubhouse after the second round of the PHC Classic.

Rohanna sits atop the leaderboard at 7-under 137 with only golfer or two remaining on the course in position to wrest the top spot away heading into the final round at Brown Deer Park Golf Course in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

The Waynesburg Central graduate opened on the back nine with a bogey on No. 10 to slip to 4-under for the tournament. She had another bogey on No. 15, her sixth hole, to go to 3-under for the tournament, but got a stroke back with a birdie to go out in 1-over 37.

She made the turn with a birdie on No. 1, her 10th hole. Rohanna added birdies on Nos. 4 and 8 to play her back nine in 3-under 33.

“I started off a little shaky, but brought it back towards the end,” explained Rohanna.

Rohanna was solid on the greens, saying, “Yes, very good (with her putting). I didn’t make everything I looked at, but made some very good par saves.”

Rohanna’s husband, Ethan Virgili, is on her bag this weekend, and she is looking forward to the final round, whether or not she goes in as the leader.

“I can’t imagine I’ll stay in the lead (with golfers still on the course), but yes, (the final round) is just another 18 holes,” said Rohanna, adding, “Enjoying golf with my husband.”

As for his ability as a caddie, Rohanna quipped, “He’s doing pretty good so far.”
