Raiders secure berth in WPIAL rifle finals
The Waynesburg Central rifle team secured a berth into next week’s WPIAL Championship with a season-ending 798-53x-790-43x victory Thursday afternoon over Washington at Frazier-Simplex Shooting Range.
Waynesburg finishes 6-2 in Section 1 and 9-3 overall. The Raiders could finish in a three-way tie for first if West Greene defeated McGuffey in the final match.
The Raiders’ Hunter Wasson, Dylan Crockard and Abby Ozohonish shared medalist honors with all three scoring a nearly perfect 100-8x.聽
Emilee Tuttle finished with 100-7x. Dylan Henkins (100-6x), Cameron Cernuska (100-3x), Selena Phillips (99-7x), and Tristan Cole (99-6x) rounded out the scoring for Waynesburg.
Ryan Woods (97-4x) and Nick Guess (98-5x) did not count in the final score.
The Prexies’ Kenna Radachy shared medalist honors with a score of 100-8x. Will Raney shot 100-7x.
