Yellow Jackets win in extra innings, 6-5

The Waynesburg baseball team beat Neumann, 6-5 in 10 innings, last Tuesday in the Russ Matt Central Florida Invitational.

The Yellow Jackets (2-4) tied the game in the bottom of the seventh inning with a pair of runs. Justin Davey made the score 5-4 with an RBI single and Tyler Godwin tied the score with a two-out RBI single. Connellsville graduate John Przbylinski scored the winning run in the bottom of the 10th on Tyler Reis’ single.

Scott Hefty pitched four innings in relief to earn the win. The senior allowed just one hit and a walk, while striking out five. Noah Lolley started and allowed four runs, three earned, on eight hits and two walks in 5.1 innings of work.
