Lady Maples upend Geibel Catholic, 37-34

The game was tied after three quarters Monday night, but the Mapletown girls pulled ahead in the fourth quarter and then held on for a 37-37 Section 2-A victory over visiting Geibel Catholic.

The Lady Gators slip to 4-1 in the section and 7-7 overall, while Mapletown improves to 2-3 in the section and 5-9 overall.

The game was tied at 8-8 after the first quarter and the Lady Maples held a 20-19 halftime lead. Geibel tied the game at 29 after three quarters.

Kayla Smith had a double-double for the Lady Maples with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Abby Antill also scored 11 points.

Grace Nowicki scored a game-high 13 points for the Lady Gators. Gillian Yourish added 12.
