Rockets remain undefeated in section play
Jefferson-Morgan scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning Tuesday and didn’t look back for a 13-1 Section 2-A victory over West Greene in five innings.
The Rockets improve to 7-0 in the section and 7-4 overall, while the Maples slip to 2-7 and 2-8.
Gage Clark was one out shy of a complete game, giving way when he reached his 75 pitch count. He allowed one earned run on three hits with 10 strikeouts and two walks.
Isaac Dean belted a grand slam in the five-run fifth inning. He added a single, scored two runs and drove in five.
Justin Maddich went 3-for-3 with two doubles, a single, two runs, and three RBI.聽
Losing pitcher Mike Howard had a double. Joey Chapman doubled and scored on Zach Pettit’s single.
