Raiders cruise to 14-4 win at home

By For The Greene County Messenger 1 min read

Waynesburg Central scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning and didn’t look for a 14-4 non-section win Wednesday afternoon over visiting Burgettstown.

The Lady Raiders (9-8) belted three home runs. Sydney Hare blasted a three-run shot in the first inning. Rachel Elsenheimer hit a three-run home run in the third inning, and Tara Staley invoked the mercy rule with her two-run shot in the fifth.

Staley just missed hitting for the cycle, adding a double and single. Elsenheimer and Brooke Meek both doubled.

Emma Ricciuti went the distance for the win, striking out one and walking none.
