By Jim Downey, For The Greene County Messenger 1 min read

Rachel Rohanna was unable to continue the momentum of her strong first round into Friday’s second round, and as a consequence missed the cut at the LPGA Volvik Championship after shooting a 79.

Rohanna had seven bogeys and no birdies in the second round to finish with a two-round total of 5-over 149. The cut was at 1-under 143.

Sung Hyun Park holds the lead midway through the tournament in Ann Arbor, Michigan, at 12-under 132.

Rohanna carded seven birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey in Thursday’s first round to finish at 2-under 70.

Rohanna hit 11-of-18 greens in regulation on Thursday, but slipped to just 8-of-18 in the second round. She needed 26 putts in the first round, but that total grew to 33 in the second round.
