Rockets fall on the road at Springdale, 42-20
D.L. Garrett’s 30-yard touchdown pass from Jacob Broadwater one minute into the second quarter tied the score, but Josh Harmon scored a pair of touchdowns in the final five minutes of the first half Friday night as Springdale defeated visiting Jefferson-Morgan, 42-20, in a non-conference game.
Harmon scored on runs of 4, 4 and 8 yards in the first half and Logan Panza hit all three extra points to give the Dynamos a 21-7 halftime lead.
Garrett returned the opening kick of the second half 90 yards for a touchdown to draw the Rockets (1-1) to 21-13, but Springdale got the score back three minutes later on Scott Landis’ 21-yard touchdown run.
Springdale scored the first 14 points of the fourth quarter. An 8-yard Broadwater to Zack Gamble touchdown pass with 17 seconds left in the game closed the scoring.
Garrett caught four passes for 96 yards, while Broadwater completed 5-of-9 passes for 104 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.
