West Greene’s Jackson runs through Eagles in 53-7 win
Ben Jackson sliced through the Avella defense for 217 yards rushing and three touchdowns to lead West Greene to a 53-7 Tri-County South Conference home victory Friday night.聽
Jackson opened the game with an 82-yard kickoff return to spot the Pioneers (1-0, 2-0) to a 7-0 lead just 13 seconds into the game.
The sophomore scored on runs of 64, 10 and 58 yards. He did his damage rushing on just 10 carries.
Zach Pettit scored on a 61-yard run in the first quarter and scored on a 25-yard pass from Gavin Scott. Adam Courtwright had a 21-yard touchdown run, and Christian Fox scored on a 2-yard run.
The Pioneers’ Austin Geho ran for 86 yards on nine carries.
