Yough holds off Pioneers, 54-50
West Greene’s late rally fell a little bit short as Yough held on for a 54-50 victory Friday night over the Pioneers in the Falcons Tip-Off Tournament.
West Greene outscored Yough, 22-14, in the final quarter.
The Pioneers led throughout the first half, 11-8 after the first quarter and 21-19 at halftime.
Yough pulled into the lead after the third quarter, 36-28.
The Cougars made 20-of-29 foul shots, compared to 8-of-12 by West Greene.
Jarett Bach led Yough with a game-high 17 points. Gamal Marballie finished with 15 and CJ Waldier added 13.
Nathan Brudnock scored 15 for the Pioneers. Austin Crouse added 13.
