Big first quarter carries Lady Pioneers to 63-21 win
The West Greene girls scored all the points they needed in the first eight minutes as the Lady Pioneers handily defeated county rival Carmichaels, 63-21, Wednesday night.
West Greene (3-1) outscored the Lady Mikes in the opening quarter, 31-3, and led 46-6 at halftime.
The Lady Mikes (0-4) were shut out in the third quarter and trailed 61-6 heading into the final eight minutes. Carmichaels held a 15-2 advantage in the final quarter.
West Greene’s Kaitlyn Rizor scored a game-high 17 points. Madison Lampe added 11. The Lady Pioneers had 10 players score at least a field goal.
