Strong fourth quarter carries Pioneers to 65-59 win

The West Greene boys trailed until the fourth quarter Wednesday night, but the Pioneers finished out the rally for a 65-59 non-conference victory over visiting Beth-Center.

The Bulldogs (1-2) led 13-7 after the first quarter and 33-25 at halftime. The visitors maintained the lead in the third quarter, although West Greene outscored the Bulldogs, 18-11.

West Greene pushed into the lead early in the final quarter and held on for the come-from-behind victory. The Pioneers outscored Beth-Center in the final eight minutes, 22-15.

Nathan Brudnock led the way for the Pioneers with a double-double, 25 points and 10 rebounds. He made all seven of his free throw attempts in the fourth quarter.

Austin Crouse was also in double figures for West Greene with 18 points. Ben Jackson pulled down 10 rebounds.

Easton McDaniel led the Bulldogs with 16 points. Andrew Bower and Colby Kuhns both scored 13.
