Lady Rockets edge Geibel Catholic, 30-28
Geibel Catholic’s late rally fell one field goal short Friday as the Jefferson-Morgan girls held on for a 30-28 win in the consolation game of the Carmichaels Lions King Coal Tournament.
The Lady Rockets (2-7) outscored Geibel in the third quarter, 7-2, for an 18-13 lead. The Lady Gators held a 15-12 advantage in the final eight minutes.
Jefferson-Morgan led 8-6 after the first quarter, but Geibel tied the game at halftime, 11-11.
Maddie Reeves led Jefferson-Morgan with 10 points.
Geibel’s Gayle Pokol shared scoring honors with 10 points.
