By For The Greene County Messenger 1 min read

Jefferson-Morgan senior Gavin Teasdale lost his second career high school match last Saturday at the 29th annual Panther Classic at Buckeye Local High School in Weirton, West Virginia.

Weir High School’s Caleb Rea downed Teasdale, 8-4, in the finals of the tournament at 132 pounds. Teasdale, a Penn State recruit, has been wrestling at 126, but moved up for the tournament, while Rea normally competes at 138.

Teasdale (28-2, 150-2) has won three state championships and was undefeated his first three years in high school. He lost his first career match on Dec. 30 at the Powerade Christmas Tournament in the finals at 126 pounds to Wyoming Seminary’s Beau Bartlett, 4-3.

Teasdale is attempting to become the 13th four-time Pennsylvania champion. Campbell University head wrestling coach and Jefferson-Morgan graduate Cary Kolat accomplished the feat on his way to an undefeated high school career at 137-0.

Rocket senior Nate Bilonick (18-13) finished in eighth place at 138.
