Yellow Jackets slip by W&J, 24-22

Waynesburg closed the Presidents’ Athletic Conference road match Wednesday night with pins by Joshua Sneeringer and Jake Evans, rallying past Washington & Jefferson for a 24-22 victory.

Trailing by 10 points with two bouts remaining, Sneeringer began the late rally at 197 pounds by pinning West Greene graduate Dalton Wildman in 51 seconds. Evans then completed the comeback with a pin in 1:14 over Derek Allen at 285 pounds.

The Yellow Jackets opened the match with forfeits by Tristan Buxton (125) and Josh Kuslock (133).

The Presidents countered with six straight wins, including a pin by Josh Armstrong (157), decisions from Mike Heinl (141), Sam Florentino (149), Bentworth graduate Hunter Neely (165), and Jared Walker (174), and a major decision by William Oberschelp (184).
