Lady Pioneers lose first game
The West Greene girls fell behind in the first quarter Friday night and was unable to recover as the Lady Pioneers lost for the first time, a 62-38 non-section loss at Winchester Thurston.
The Lady Pioneers go to 13-1 overall, while Winchester Thurston improves to 8-3.
The home team led 16-8, 28-18 and 40-25 at the quarter breaks.
Madison Lampe led West Greene with 15 points. Her twin sister McKenna added eight.
Gia Thorpe scored a game-high 18 points for Winchester Thurston. Ayanna Townsend (15), Emma Small (11), and Nya Nicholson (10) also finished in double figures.
