Lady Greyhounds win first section game

Jefferson-Morgan’s rally fell short in the fourth quarter as the Lady Rockets lost to visiting Monessen, 33-31, Thursday night in Section 2-A action.

The game was tied at 12-12 at halftime, but the Lady Greyhounds (1-6, 2-14) pushed into a 24-17 lead after the third quarter.

The Lady Rockets (1-6, 2-14) outscored Monessen in the final quarter, 14-9.

Katey Wolfe led Jefferson-Morgan with 10 points. Krista McCartney added nine.

Qitarah Henderson scored a game-high 16 points for Monessen.
