Uniontown Legion shuts out Carmichaels, 5-0

Ian Edenfield and Greg Lancaster combined on a 3-hitter Thursday night to lead Uniontown to a 5-0 victory over visiting Carmichaels in Fayette American Legion Baseball League action.

Edenfield started and went six innings for the win. He allowed three hits with one walk and seven strikeouts.

Lancaster pitched the seventh inning with one strikeout and two walks.

The game was scoreless through three innings when Uniontown broke through with one run in the bottom of the fourth.

The home team pulled away with three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and added an insurance run in the sixth.

Carmichaels’ Lance Stevenson and Steven Spehar allowed just five hits in the loss.

Stevenson took the loss after starting and pitching four innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on two hits with three walks and one strikeout.

Spehar pitched the final two innings, allowing one earned run on three hits with two walks and one strikeout.

Uniontown’s Josh Burns had a double and triple, and scored two runs. Tanny Erminio finished with a pair of singles and two RBI. Nate Zimcosky singled and drove in run. Mason McManus and Chad Petrush both had an RBI.
