Yellow Jackets fall to Mount St. Joseph, 83-56
The Waynesburg men trailed by eight at halftime Saturday night and were unable to rally in the second half in an 83-56 loss to Mount St. Joseph in its Tip-Off Classic.
The Yellow Jackets (1-3) trailed after the first half, 38-30. The host team outscored Waynesburg in the final 20 minutes, 45-26.
Brennan Smith was the lone Waynesburg player in double figures with 22 points. Matt Popeck finished with nine.
Jake Cropper led the winners with a double-double, scoring a game-high 38 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Shaun Sullivan added 13. Devin Young (14) and Brady Thomas (11) came off the bench to score double figures.Â
