Red Raiders sweep triangular at Greene County C.C.

The Uniontown, Jefferson-Morgan and California boys golf team made up Section 8-AA matches Friday afternoon at Greene County Country Club, and the Red Raiders came away with a pair of wins.

Uniontown defeated the Rockets, 240-310, and the Trojans, 240-355, to improve to 7-1 in the section and 8-1 overall. Jefferson-Morgan salvaged a split to improve to 1-4 in the section and 2-4 overall.

The Red Raiders’ Danae Rugola was medalist with a 4-over 40. Her younger sister Adena finished with a 42. Michael Mercadante (54), Nate Moody (51), and Maddie Myers (53) also counted in the final score. Gage Brugger’s 58 was not used.

Kyle Clayton was the low man for the Rockets with a 54. Cameron Cernuska (60), Adam Hobe (68), Bryce Bedelion (60), and Sabastian Jellots (68) closed out the scoring.

Trucker Roberts was the low score for the Trojans with a 61. Jacob Thomas (68), Phil Stewart (73), Steve Martin (79), and Randy Molek (74) also counted in the final tally.
