Danae Rugola posted a 33 Tuesday afternoon to lead Uniontown to a 207-229 victory in Section 8-AA play against visiting Waynesburg Central at Duck Hollow Golf Club.

The Red Raiders improve to 8-1 in the section and 9-1 overall. UniontownĢƵ lone loss came to section-leading Carmichaels.

The Raiders go to 5-3 in the section and 6-3 overall.

RugolaĢƵ 2-under round included birdies on Nos. 6, 8 and 9, and a bogey after a three-putt on No. 5.

“Yes, it was,” Rugola responded when asked if she played a good round.

The senior was consistently able to get off the tee after dealing with some issues last week.

“My driver has been a little erratic, so I went to (FrankoĢƵ) driving range and figure it out a little bit. I went back Saturday, but it rained so I was unable to get out the last two days,” explained Rugola. “I feel I have my swing back a little bit.

“I had only one bad drive. They were all down the middle. I hit my irons so clean.”

Rugola was happy to see the squad pick it up against the Raiders. Her younger sister Adena shot 40, Nate Moody carded 43, Gage Brugger shot 44, and Michael Mercadante closed the scoring with 47.

Maddie Myers’ 56 was not used.

“We’ve been in a little rut. Today was exciting because everyon dropped (scores) significantly,” complimented Rugola.

Kyle Shriver was the low man for the Raiders with a 7-over 42. Ray Behm and Richard Bortz both shot 44. MaCottie Denjen finished with 47 and Trevor Boris wrapped up the scoring with a 52.

Lucas GarberĢƵ 53 did not count in the final tally.
