Lady Raiders defeat Mount Pleasant, 6-1

Brooke Ulery netted a quick goal at the start of the second half to draw Mount Pleasant to within a goal, but Waynesburg Central responded with four unanswered goals for a 6-1 Section 3-AA home victory Monday night.

Waynesburg improves to 3-1 in the section and 4-2 overall. The Lady Vikings to to 2-3 in the section and 4-3 overall.

Ulery’s goal just 19 seconds into the second half was quickly countered by Rhea Kijowski to return the advantage to two goals.

Elise Benke and Brenna Benke, and Kijowski again, scored for the final difference.

Kijowski assisted on both first half goals, the first by Kylie Sinn and the second from Kaley Pell, for a four-point night.

Sinn had two-second half assists.

McKenzie Booth made eight saves for the Lady Raiders.
