Renner tosses 1-hitter in 15-0 win at Monessen

By For The Greene County Messenger 1 min read

Jade Renner allowed only Hannah Yorty’s triple as she broke the West Green’s win record in a three-inning shutout over Monessen in Section 2-A action.

Renner (3-3) now has 40 wins, eclipsing Rachel Burns’ total. She struck out one and didn’t walk a batter.

Kiley Meek pitched the third inning, striking out two of the three batters she faced.

Kaitlyn Rizor, Renner, McKenna Lampe, and Meek all had two hits for the Lady Pioneers (2-0, 3-3). Rizor and Mackenzie Carpenter tripled in the win, while Rizor, Renner and Meek all drove in two runs.

The Lady Pioneers scored five in the top of the first inning, two in the second, and invoked the mercy rule with eight runs in the top of the third inning.

Yorty allowed 14 hits with three strikeouts. She led off the bottom of the first with her triple, the lone hit allowed by the Lady Pioneer pitching staff.
