Raiders hold off Beth-Center, 77-72

Beth-Center won the last relay, but the visiting Bulldogs fell a couple points shy of a Section 2-AAA victory Tuesday afternoon with a 77-72 loss to Waynesburg Central.

Brandon Lincoski, Talon Balog, Colby Kuhns and Todd Fisher won the 1,600 relay in 3:53.08.

Daniel Layton (110 high hurdles, 15.22; 300 intermediate hurdles, 43.40; pole vault, 8-6), Caleb Shriver (100, 11.65; 200, 23.94; triple jump, 40-5), and Gabe McConville (1,600, 5:07.37; 3,200, 12:01.53) combined to win eight events for Waynesburg Central.

Scott Benco won the javelin (175-0) and Josh Galbreath finished first in the shot put (40-7) for the Raiders.

Lincoski (400, 56.66), Todd Fisher (800, 2:17.90), Michael Berdar (high jump, 6-0), Max Malanosky (long jump, 18-11¼), and Jordan Blackburn (discus, 143-3) all had first-place finishes for Beth-Center.

The Bulldogs took first place in all three relays.
