Mikes win on the road at Monessen, 13-2
Carmichaels scored in every inning Wednesday afternoon as the visiting Mikes returned home from Monessen with a 13-2 non-section victory in five innings.
The Mikes (6-1) scored five in the top of the first inning. The visitors extended their lead to 10-2 after three innings, and invoked the mercy rule with three runs over the fourth and fifth innings.
Steven Spehar went the distance for the win, allowing one earned run on four hits with two strikeouts and no walks.
Gavin Pratt sparked the Carmichaels offense with two triples, a single, three RBI and three runs scored. Matt Barrish had a triple, single, three RBI and two runs scored.Â
Nick Ricco and Collin Reynolds both had doubles in the win, with Reynolds driving in a pair of runs.
Cam Frolo had two singles for the Greyhounds (3-4). Jack Sacco took the loss, pitching 2.1 innings and allowing nine runs (eight earned) on nine hits with two strikeouts and two walks.
