Lady Maples down visiting Monessen, 12-5

The teams combined for 18 errors, but Mapletown made the most of its nine hits for a key 12-5 Section 2-A home victory over Monessen.

The lead changed hands several times in the early innings, but the Lady Maples (4-1, 7-1) finally took control of the game with two runs in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The home team extended the lead with five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

Macee Cree went five innings for the win, striking out five and walking none.

Mekenzie Reda tripled for Mapletown, driving in two runs. Hannah Dusenberry had a double and single, and Katherine Fox finished with a pair of singles.

Hannah Yorty took the loss. Yorty and Mattie Telegraphis both doubled for the Lady Greyhounds (1-4, 1-7).
