Mikes remain in first place with 8-4 win

Carmichaels remained in first place in Section 1-AA with an 8-4 road victory Monday afternoon at Fort Cherry.

Carmichaels improves to 7-1 in the section and 11-1 overall, while Fort Cherry is 4-4 in the section and 7-6 overall.

Fort Cherry scored two runs in the bottom of the third inning for a 3-2 lead, but the Mikes tied the game with a run in the top of the sixth inning.

The visitors then regained the lead with five runs in the top of the seventh inning.

Gavin Pratt pitched the final five innings to earn the win for the Mikes. He allowed three earned runs on six hits with eight strikeouts and one walk.

Pratt also had a good day at the place with a double, single, two RBI and a run scored.

Stush Ferek led the Carmichaels offense with a double and four RBI. Al Cree went 4-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored. Matt Barrish, who started the game, singled, walked three times and scored two runs.
